Nina is a life-long educator. She has taught elementary and middle school math and been an instructional coach and a mathematics specialist. Now a mathematics teacher leadership grant funds her work as an instructor at the University of Northern Colorado with elementary and high school math teachers across the state.
Nina and her husband adopted two children from Korea almost 30 years ago, and through this experience, she has continued to learn about and embrace the culture of the Korean people. As a family, the McGibneys have traveled to Seoul and returned each time looking forward to their next visit. Nina has worked with Korean women wanting to perfect their English language skills in a tutoring program through the Korean Language School.
She feels that the mission of DCIS with its global perspective and multi-cultural awareness is what makes it such an outstanding school for students.
